We’ve Broken Down . . . In The Middle of Nowhere

Doctor Who quote for the title. I haven’t posted in awhile so I figured I’d do one tonight. I just got back from my Mock Trial meeting. It went pretty good; the whole group talked and hung out for awhile. It also helped me get a better idea of what I need to do tomorrow and this weekend to prepare. The only problem is that it was a late meeting and I never do well at night. We each had to read our questions allowed and it probably sounded like I was having a stroke or something with how much I was slurring and how bad my dyslexia was. It was dark by the time I got out so I was pretty on edge having to walk back from the UC. When I got to the first light though, there was a group of two guys and two girls in front of me, so I basically stayed four feet behind them until Turner. I felt like a creeper, but it gave me a blockade from danger.

I’ve basically been doing homework all week whenever I’m not in class. I have the Mock Trial/Research Paper both due on Monday plus the usual online class homework that’s do this weekend. I already did my Current Event for European Politics, so that just leaves the Discussant  as the only other major thing for that class. I’m actually kind of glad I’m in the first trial, because it gives me a lot less to do later on in the semester.

Not much else has happened this week. I watched the game on Monday and was severely disappointed. Although, judging from the amount of Broncos shirts being worn, it is now cool for girls to like football. First Star Trek and now football; I’m starting to become cool.

Classes are still going pretty good. However, all of this political science just makes me hate people even more. Seriously, people are just too dumb for me handle some days. Even the readings make me annoyed sometimes, especially when I have to read about civil liberties and how people are whiners about them. Then I have the classes I go to and people say dumb stuff. Usually Tuesdays and Thursdays are the days that I spend the whole time wanting to punch people. Luckily, I don’t have too much of that in the History or my Nutrition classes. People in those classes tend to keep quiet and bide their time until class gets out.

This weekend is going to be a massive homework weekend. I’m going to write my whole research paper and finish the Mock Trial stuff. I’m also going to try to get my flu shot and pick up some stuff at Walgreens too. Yup. I’m really living it up here at school. Fun times all around.

I Find Lentils Completely Incomprehensible

So it’s Thursday. Basically my day where I don’t really leave the room, but I still have a ton of work to do. I went down to the mailbox to see if my textbook was in and it wasn’t in there. My RA was working the desk though and she checked the unsorted mail for me and my textbook was back there. So I majorly lucked out. This means I managed to get all of my US Government work done on time this week. That class will be the hardest just because I keep forgetting about it. I hoping if I just get in the practice of doing that work on Tuesday and Thursday then I won’t have a problem. I also got switched to the first trial in Revolutionary American, which gives me more work. I’m a little bummed that I’m not a Loyalist anymore, but I get to protest the Townshend Acts, which might be fun. Basically I’m a Patriot now.

Otherwise, everything’s still pretty basic right now. My plans for world domination continue during my political science class. I have my busy day tomorrow so I will have no down time before driving home. Sadly, I will also miss the new Doctor Who episode with the wedding this weekend. I should hopefully be able to catch up Sunday or Monday night. Hopefully I won’t forget anything like my heels or my razor when I come home for the weekend; that’s my biggest concern.

In case anyone was wondering, the post title comes from an episode of Dollhouse. I started watching it recently and it’s pretty good. It is a Whedon television show, however, so I’m not expecting a happy ending. I’m actually usually sitting there just waiting for someone to get stabbed, because I know it’s coming.

Anyway, that’s it for today. I probably won’t post again until Monday because I won’t have the time tomorrow or this weekend.

The World Is A Mess And I Just Need To Rule It

Since I have not posted in a week, I decided it would be good to write something up real quick. I’ve been really tired from the whole adjustment period of summer to school that I haven’t felt like posting. Anyway, there was a three day weekend with Labor day and I decided to take it easy. I had to get my emissions test taken care of on Saturday and it only took like five minutes, so I stopped at the Dollar Store and Maurices. I got a new dress, a skirt, some Ramen and pizza chips. I spent the other two days taking it easy and catching up on some of my shows. The new season of Doctor Who premiered. It was pretty good, but I’m worried about some spoilers for the fifth episode. Additional note: the next episode is called “Dinosaurs on A Spaceship.”

Class-wise everything is going pretty good. There’s a lot of reading, especially for the online class. I’m beginning to see the problem of becoming a political science minor during an election year. Once again, I’m the lowly Republican who just sits in the corner and tries not to get their head bit off. The other result is that instead of thinking “Wow, politics is so wonderfully complicated,” I can see how simple everything is and how stupid everyone else is. I should seriously get a career in politics, I would be great at it because I can see how everything is manipulated and presented in a way to gain or lose votes. Seriously. I have already come up with a plan if I ever did feel like taking over the country. Sadly, I have no interest in doing so or dealing with stupid people, so my plan will remain unfulfilled.

Anyway, that’s basically it. I’m still waiting for a textbook to come in from Amazon. I probably spend the rest of the afternoon working on more reading.
