The Board of Education Took Away My Parole

So I figured it’s the first day of school, so I figured I should do a post before I forget about the blog and then October comes with no posts. Basically this was the start of my really hard days with four classes and only a quick hour break for lunch. Principles of Nutrition seems like it will be okay I guess. It’s one of those big classes in the auditorium, so a lot of note taking and they’ll be slight bit of group work. The professor said that we could print out the lecture slides to lessen how much notes we have to take, but I doubt I’ll do that. For one, ink and paper are expensive and for two, I tend to remember things better if I write it down.

From there it is a bus ride to the other side of campus where I have to walk to the middle of campus to get to my European Politics class. Sadly, my summer political science professor also teaches this one and it looks like it will be a lot of work. It’s also a small class that relies a lot on participation and discussions, which I do not enjoy. After my lunch break I have American West History, which is small and boring thus far. The professor has no public speaking skills and kept saying umm and uh a lot. He also said that one of our books goes by themes instead of chronological order and it deals with lots of “advanced conceptual ideas,” and he can help us if we need. Meanwhile I’m sitting there like “really? I’ve read books like that before and didn’t even notice a difference.”

Revolutionary America will definitely be my favorite class. The professor is really fun and we get to do a mock trial later on. We’ll get to be in character and argue about issues of the time. I want to be a witness so I get to be a historical character. The only down side is that it comes with a six to ten page research paper.

Basically that is it. I have one class tomorrow, plus work for my online class and my homework. I also have to fight with the printer because it doesn’t want to install the drivers correctly. One more additional note, the new chair is awesome.
