So I’ve finally got a lull in my workload this week, so I decided I’d actually work on my blog instead of playing Mah Jong. Especially since it’s already midterms and I’ve only posted once this semester. I just seem to be busy with papers or tests or both and when I’m not working I kind of feel like vegging.
Other than the ginormous workload, this semester’s been pretty good. None of my professors make me totally crazy. Some of Andrea’s ideas are a little weird, but I like having a class where we get to move around, so it makes up for it. I really like the Suzuki work; it’s sort of like a mix between dance and martial arts and it’s pretty fun. I’m not so fond of the monologue work. Finding verbs and metaphors for our monologues just doesn’t help me that much.
We had Massage Day in Stage Speech today. It is officially the best thing ever. We got into partners and did head, neck, back, leg, and arm massages. The head massages are awesome. I think it comes from Mom rubbing my head when I was a baby to put me to sleep, but we did it in class and I almost fell asleep. On a side note, when I was walking into class today, I could hear the orchestra warming up. I noticed that I was subconsciously moving my fingers in the correct patterns to play the cello to the warm up. It kind of made me miss playing my cello. I’ll have to practice over winter break I guess.
Carlin’s class has been cancelled for Monday and will probably be canceled on Friday too, so she gets a four day weekend. I’m super jealous. With all this work I’m doing I’ll be glad to finally get a vacation.
We did go to see The Lion King in 3D last weekend. It was amazing. It’s like it was made for 3D before people were really doing movies with 3D in mind. I had forgotten how much I enjoy Lion King, especially since I haven’t seen it since like elementary school. Although now I can see all of the morals and lessons and well, plot, that you are supposed to get from watching it. Before it was more like “cool, lions. Mufasa dies, Simba becomes king,” and that was pretty much that. I put my 3D glasses on my Basset Hound bobble head, so now he can be a hipster.
So I’ll probably head home this weekend. Carlin has a group project this weekend and I have to see Big Love next week, so once again we’re going home on different days. At least her parents will be coming to get her, so it’s not my problem. Last time I went home, I brought up a bunch of winter clothes, since it was really cold up here. Now the weather has decided to be warm, so I don’t really need all the sweaters and stuff yet. Of course, Carlin keeps the room pretty cold, so I don’t really wear shorts either.
On a sort of pointless note, I found this adorable gif and it made me really want to see the pets, so it’ll be nice to go home.
first off I love the random kitties, they make me think of Meggie! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the Lion King, but really wouldn't it be cheaper to buy it? Hope your workload gets better though, I've been swamped with papers too it seems! Meggie says hi!
ReplyDeleteI was impressed by the Lion King in 3D too. Surprisingly so since I've seen in hundreds of times before. Although on a side note, every time they walk across the log in Hakuna Matata I think of you. Every time.
ReplyDeleteHope the cello treats you well when you get home to it. I kinda miss my violin, so I think it's cool you're keeping up with it at all.
