We've officially had our first snow here in Greeley, which means it is now officially winter here. Winter in college is very different from winter at home. For starters, in high school I just had to dress warm enough to get from the car to the school. I could get by with jeans, a tshirt, and a jacket. Here I have to walk across campus for class so I have to dress way warmer. In college you also see all the kids who are not from Clorado and thus have no idea what winter in Colorado entails, my roomate included.
The general outfit for winter, for girls at least, is Ugg boots, sweats, and a hoodie. Wrong. You will freeze in that. I wear tights under straight jeans, a tank top, a long sleeve shirt, two jackets, gloves, hat, scarf, and boots. Although this is a pain in the butt in our warm room and any classrooms that are hot, the only thing that matters is that I don't freeze on the way over. Having coffee and oatmeal for breakfast helps too.
Carlin does not have a real winter coat, although she had one in Arizona that she wore in the freezing 60 degree weather. Why she doesn't have a decent coat now is beyond me. She went home this weekend, so its just me in the dorm. I nver realized how quiet it is when she's not here. It kind of freaks me out. Its wierd going to sleep without the light and tv on, since Carlin usually stays up later than me. I guess I can never live by myself, I'd never survive.
holly says your roommate is crazy what kind of person doesnt own a coat in this state! shes crazy. tell her i said that :)
