So this post is full of spoilers for the new Harry Potter, so don't read if you don't want to know. Also, it will be confusing and probably pointless if you don't read/watch Harry Potter, so I'm sorry about that.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows premiere last night was epic! We got there at 7:30 and they made us wait outside, so I went back to the dorm to grab blankets. But the second I got back they let us in. Carlin bought me Red Vines for running back though, so it was worth it. It was also nice to have the blankets in the theatre, especially since I was wearing a skirt. I have this OCD habit where I have to have my feet up on the seat so nothing gets them. It's kinda weird, so having the blanket was helpful. I went in a costume that I put together. I had a black skirt, heels, a white button shirt, a grey sweater, and my UNC scarf. It sorta looks like Hufflepuff, so it worked. But my feet are still sore from the shoes. But when all my theatre friends saw my costume they were all "You are so cute!" Everything I do around those people is "cute." We had about four hours to waste in the theatre, so that was really boring. And they kept playing the same five songs, including Hannah Montana. Bleh. But it's fun going to midnight premieres of big fan things like this. Everyone kept cheering for good previews and at the beginning and end of the movie.
The theatre obviously knew that nerds would be watching Harry Potter cause all the previews were for nerdy films. There was Green Hornet, Green Lantern, and Narnia. There also a preview for this movie called cowboys and Aliens. The entire theatre laughed and was like "What the heck was that?" afterward. But the preview with the most cheers was Narnia. It's nice to know that we all like the same things pretty much. So that's one I'm definitely going to see.
Harry Potter was really good. This first part was really funny. The twins were awesome and had some really good lines. "Just trying to diffuse the tension." And the Ron/Hermione stuff was really good. Just admit that you are totally in love with her, its so obvious. They did the Tale of the Three Brothers part really good. I loved the way they animated it and how they used the bird images to go in and out of the story. They also didn't leave a whole lot out of the first part, unlike the other movies. Course the next movie will be really angsty. Pretty much everyone dies. I will probably be the most sad when Fred dies. I mean, you can't split up the twins. And they are probably the funniest characters in the series. So angst + last movie ever = sad Brittany. I will definitely need ice cream after that one.
So once again, the post title is from A Very Potter Musical. It's super funny, which makes a nice contrast to the angst of the last book/movie. Same with the Red Vines. That's why I needed those. "Red Vines. What can't they do?"
apparently Zach said that the cartoon part in that gave him bad dreams. he's such a nerd. and you and me have to go see tangled and narnia when they come out. and ive seen that preview for cowboys and aliens and i almost died laughing because it looked so corny! and definately with the next movie make plans to run to the store for a gallon of ice cream each. you can work off all the calories the next day! :)
