Colors of the Wind

I absolutely love fall. It has to be my favorite season. I love how the leaves change colors. And it's fun to jump on them. I also like how it's not super hot like summer, but it's not freezing cold yet. Well, unless you live in Greeley. It's still pretty hot up here. And I assume it'll get really cold mid-October. Fall is also the best time to go to class. In winter it's too cold to focus on class and all you want to do is sleep. And spring is too nice to be cooped up in a classroom. At least in the fall it feels like class weather.

So I had a very good day today. Well, except for the fact that I still have mono, but that's not changing anytime soon. In Acting I had to do my monologue. I wasn't feeling very confidant about it because in high school I never had much success with audition monologues and never got much feedback on them. I mean, my high school theatre teacher was cool and all, but she played favorites and didn't give much feedback. But Harrison was super excited about it and said I was doing a good job. He also made the entire class talk and made me yell at them to shut up for about fifteen minutes. I could not stop laughing. And everyone said I was too cute to be mean.

And Now on to Something Completely Different

This will just be a quick, meaningless post. Since I now have mono and, as a result, no more job, not much has been going on. I go to class, do lots of homework, and sleep. Oh and fall in mud puddles.

But in case anyone is curious, this is my acting teacher.

And yes, that is pretty close to his actual personality. Sorry about the shortness of the post.

Ladybugs Must Render You Catatonic

Sorry I like never post anymore. I'm just so busy with work and homework, and once I'm done I just veg. Not much exciting has happened to me lately. Although a ladybug flew into my mouth while I was walking back from classes. It was so gross, I could taste it for like twenty minutes. I've pretty much adjusted to dorm life. Although everyone on our floor likes to run around and scream and play music loudly. Especially our bath roomies. We don't really see them, but we can hear them. But that's not as bad as our upstairs neighbor. Let's just say me and Carlin hear, noises, almost every night at around one. So awkward.
Work's going pretty good so far too. I mean, it's work, what else is there to say? At least it pays. Eventually. So far I've worked dirty dishes, dining room, deli, the Dash, stocking, and the Grille. I like deli and dining room. They're really low key and easy. Except for when I have to run in the walk-in freezer; it's too cold in there. And the other day when I was working dining room, I was cleaning tables and someone had jammed a quarter in the bottom of the salt shaker. Salt spilled everywhere and ended up giving me an asthma attack. But at least I got a quarter out of it. Simple things like that make me happy at work. It gets boring so you have to find some way to entertain yourself. I do the classic sing songs in my head and play with my gloves. I also like to reorganize the food and play with the ice cream scoop. The other day when I worked dining room there was a random guy doing kung fu stuff outside that was very entertaining.
Classes are alright. The lecture classes are nice cause you don't have to do much except listen and take notes. Creative Drama and Acting are both hard. None of us understand the homework in Creative Drama. We like the class in the class, but not the outside of class stuff. In Acting we have been doing this Meisner thing for weeks that none of us get and are all sick of. If I were to ever meet Meisner I think I would I would smack him.
When me and Carlin aren't in class we usually do homework or veg out. We watch a lot of Nickelodeon. Yes, we are very mature college kids.

You Do Too Much…College, A Job...You're Not Superman, You Know!

Sorry I haven't posted in, like, a week or two. I'm just constantly at work and classes and when I get time off I do homework. Classes are fine, just a bunch of projects I have to do. The jobs fine too, just a lot of work. And it always seems like I'm one of the last people to leave. I'm ready to go and then the supervisors keep giving me random stuff to do. Especially when I work dishes. I hate cleaning after I work dishes; there's always a ton to clean.

For those of you who know your movies, the title of my post comes from Spiderman. This is appropriate because I got bitten by a spider the other day. A spider that gave me a very bad reaction. It started off a few days ago, my arm was really itchy and I began feeling really nauseous and dizzy. Then two days ago, my arm erupted into hives and I felt worse. I went to the student health center on Friday to get checked out. The doctor looked at my arm and said that they usually give people cortisone cream and a steroid shot. After they took my vitals, like, three times, they kept asking me if I wanted the shot because a lot of people just get the cream. I figured it would help so why not? They said the only side after was slight pain for ten to fifteen minutes. Slight pain my butt! The shot hurts like a really bad shot, but then when the meds start going into your blood, your entire body bursts into pain. It was probably the worst shot I've ever gotten. I now know why most people opt out on the shot. At least they gave me a juice box afterwards. It's fun and works as a nice ice pack! But then they left me in the room for 50 minutes without letting me know if I could go or not. I thought they forgot about me. I probably spent around 2 hours in that office. They drew a circle around the rash and told me to make sure the rash doesn't go outside the lines. I also can't use perfume, makeup, or chemicals. At least that gets me out of a lot of cleaning at work. But it still itches and my arm where I got the shot still hurts.

Anyways, I hope you all have a happy Labor Day and I'll be thinking of you all when I'm hard at work this weekend.
